British Embassy (Tehran)
Tehrān, Iran

The British Embassy was originally located on the northern outskirts of nineteenth-century Tehran, now part of the city. Erected in the middle of a garden, the U-shaped central building around a courtyard. Each courtyard elevation refers to a different architectural style. Atop the central section stands an open pavilion whose form was inspired by the chattris of Indian Mughal architecture.
