Burj al-Shamali
Fes, Morocco
This square fortress was built in the late 16th c/10th c. AH overlooking the city of Fés, with towers at each corner.  Some scholars have argued that towers were a later addition, possibly as late at the Alawite dynasty, but this is unproven.  Today it serves as a military museum.
