NOMAD: Mobile
Various locations, Morocco
NOMAD is not a hospital in the conventional sense but rather an adaptable assembly of modular units designed to take medical services to outlying regions. It consists of an array of individual, mass-produced components that can be put together by hand, using nuts and bolts and simple tools. In areas without electricity, NOMAD can incorporate a generator and solar panels. Its double skin improves natural ventilation and reduces energy consumption. 'When constructed, the object is architecture, and useful for the duration of its existence. When no longer needed, it disappears without a trace.'
