Regional Centre for Low-Cost Water Treatment

CREPA is an organisation concerned with the low-cost provision of safe and clean water. It brings together 17 member states in Africa, from Benin and Burkina Faso to Senegal and Togo. This complex, sited in a diplomatic enclave, provides an administrative headquarters as well as a research centre. It has four components: main building (containing offices, meeting rooms, archives, library and cafeteria), training centre, guard-post and enclosing wall. The principal construction materials are compressed earth blocks, sand-cement tiles and red wood, treated against insects.
