Oil Sector Complex
Kuwait City, Kuwait
The complex houses the international headquarters of the Kuwait Petroleum Company as well as the Ministry of Energy. It consists of two fan-shaped high-rise buildings, each in turn made up of two towers - a lens-shaped tower at the front and a triangular tower at the back. The pairs of towers are serviced via a central core and connected by a full-height glazed internal atrium at ground level, and by a bridge and observation lobby on each upper floor. The project is a framed, reinforced concrete structure and the load is transferred to bored piles through a reinforced concrete mat.
