Sunrise School Kindergarten
Denpasar, Indonesia
A kindergarten designed to activate sensory learning by allowing children to explore the cycles of time and light. Its heart is the central roof beam, from which fruit plants (ripe for the picking) grow down into the classroom. The sun filtering through the greenery creates a dappled light that gives an added dimension to the learning space. Concrete was used for the main structure; the roof is aluminium on a timber frame.
