Renovation of a Traditional House
Muharraq, Bahrain
Renovation of a 70-year-old Bahraini house, one of the few remaining examples with an inward-looking design and traditional elements such as danchal poles, a palm mat roof and floor slab and badgirs (wind catchers). A detailed study established a renovation method that was not only economically viable but also environmentally sound, employing strong and durable products, as well as a minimum of cement.
