Aytek Housing
Kemerburgaz, Türkiye
Housing development in Kemerburgaz, five miles outside of Istanbul city center, designed for middle-class families. The houses are arranged in rows and rest on slightly stepping slopes. Families share a series of common green spaces, but each house is allocated a separate entrance, reached by an open stairwell. The main structure of the settlements is concrete, and the passageways linking the units are steel constructions with wooden floors. Roofs are covered with metal sheets and the window frames are made of aluminium. The shared facilities lower maintenance rates and add extra security to the development.
