Hazrat Burkh Mosque
Djirgital, Tajikistan
The construction of this mosque began before the civil war and was completed afterwards by local villagers using local resources. The interior was decorated following traditional practices: carved wood columns holding up a carved wood ceiling varnished with cotton oil, walls built with traditional mud bricks, and carpets made of hand-dyed felt.
