Guerrara Socialist Village
Guerara, Algeria
The project comprises the creation of a new village with 200 units, and social and cultural facilities as part of an ambitious government programme for agricultural development. The village was built in clusters each one of them comprising 15 to 25 houses, built in a compact block with a kitchen, utilities, and stairways leading to the flat roof. The construction is stone plastered with a local mixture of sand and cement. Public buildings are roofed with concrete vaults or slabs and whitewashed.
