Northwestern University in Qatar
Doha, Qatar
Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) is part of the larger Education City campus located in Doha, Qatar. The NU-Q building was designed by American architect Antoine Predock to serve as the College of Media and Communication for Education City, and was completed in 2017. According to the architect, the building is meant to evoke both journalistic ideals and traditional Qatari architecture. The building's thick stone walls protect inner courtyards from the challenging desert climate.

The four-story building consists of a lobby, adaptable commons, cafeteria, library, state-of-the-art newsroom, presentation and performance spaces, study and research spaces, classrooms, and administrative and faculty offices.
