Since its completion in 2013, this Institute, conceived in a spirit of community integration through the use of a patio and generous terraces with southern orientation and within the site constraints, has been a success. The streetscape hides the building's great mass. The four-storey building with two levels below ground houses a hammam, a multi-usage space, a prayer room for 300 people, workshops/exhibition spaces and top floor offices. The facade is of perforated or sanded plates inspired by chased screens placed on stone bases. With a concrete construction, high-performing insulation and a ground-coupled heat exchanger the building conforms to the Paris Climate Plan.
