Islamic Education Center
Potomac, United States
The Islamic Education Center (IEC) was initially established in 1981 under the Alavi Foundation. In 1998, the IEC and the Muslim Community School, which has operated on the property since 1986, established as independent organizations, though the Alavi Foundation still owns the building and property they are located in. The Center is housed in a two-story commercial building, with an arched arcade running along two sides of the building. The Center houses prayer space, the full-time Muslim Community School, an Islamic library and research center, a Farsi school, and an Islamic Sunday school.
