Tata Energy Research Institute
Gurgaon, India
The master plan for the Tata energy research institute campus integrates the requirements for buildings as well as the experimental culture of land in a manner that generates a favourable micro-climate and also gives physical expression to the campus community. The relationship between forest, open land, and buildings is structured so that the forest falls on the northern side of the buildings, and the open lands fall to the south. The buildings are thus sheltered from the harsh summer and winter winds, but are open to the monsoon breezes and the winter sun. The landscape structure plan establishes the permanent elements of the campus and gives is a continuity of identity within which change and development may occur.
