Raisa Bint Darwish Building
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
There were very severe commercial and budgetary constraints in this building with the client requiring five flats per floor on plot measuring 24mx24m The plan uses two triangular forms to define the diagonal axis towards the main city square and the sea. Extensive use of precast concrete panels were used with a square based pattern of diagonal grainy lines in alternating directions. White and off-white as a colour was used consistently throughout with white concrete, white tiling and white aluminium.
