Monument on the tomb of Doctor Severo Cenarro (1853-1898), who had been instrumental in eradicating cholera form the city, and subsequently proposed the creation of the Tangier Sanitary Commission to help prevent further outbreaks. He also served as president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and helped launch the first Hospital in Tangier. The monument was erected with donations raised by the community.
