Yevlakh Seed Industry Campus
Yevlax, Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s first seed-processing facility, this complex has enabled an increase in the region’s agriculture. Its design involved close collaboration between architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, agricultural engineers, seed industrialists, economists and machinery suppliers. The architecture emphasises the machine aesthetics of its contents and expresses the movement of the product through the plant, which constitutes a horizontal production band. Built of steel columns and beams on reinforced concrete foundations, the structures have roofs and facades of the same metal sheets in a variety of colours and profiles. Machinery is placed on a steel platform for ease of maintenance. Windows allow natural cross-ventilation crucial for seed storage.
