Expo Aichi Japan 2005 Masterplan
Naguke, Japan
This master plan and 2.6 km “Global Loop” was developed for the 2005 World Exposition Site in Aichi. It presented a vision for future “green” urban planning.  The Global Loop created an awareness of the site arrangement in its entirety and stamped a symbolic presence on the event. It stated, “We will not tread on the terrain in order to protect life on earth”. The structure facilitated the dismantling and reuse of construction materials, minimising waste and promoting recycling and environmental responsibility in the 21st century. In addition, by not leveling the ground, the structure had a minimal impact on the local ecology.
