Amonite Complex
Marrakech, Morocco

These two prototypes for inexpensive dwellings in rural environments were built at a very low cost and made to resist seismic activity. With their metallic frames and adobe walls they demonstrate how traditional buildings can be adapted with relatively straightforward new technologies to withstand earthquakes. Intended to maintain traditional lifestyles, the units can be constructed at a price attainable by the majority of the local population.
