Southern Ridges
Singapore, Singapore
This project connects five hill parks in the south west of Singapore to create one large recreation area. Alexandra Arch, an 80-metre-long bridge, crosses a road to connect two parks, its design resembling an open leaf. Connecting to the arch is Forest Walk, a 1.6-kilometre elevated walkway inspired by the triangular leaves of the ‘mile-a-minute’ plant found in the area. Finally, Henderson Waves, a bridge 36 metres above the ground and 274 metres long, connects another two parks, its wave-like form with timber decks and curved seats relating to the sea views from the bridge. These built forms are complemented by ground-level trails.
