Saheb Alzaman Mosque
Bushehr, Iran
The Khormoj Mosque has two main parts: a larger section that can accommodate up to 300 male worshippers on the ground floor and 130 female worshippers on a higher floor, and a smaller part that is used as a utility area. Regional architectural elements have been taken into account in designing the mosque’s doors and windows and the cylinder-shaped structure of the mosque has been designed to allow air to circulate effectively. The lack of other facilities in Khormoj village has resulted in the mosque and yard serving multiple functions: it is also used for weddings, funerals, classes, NGO meetings and sports games.
