Tahiliani Design Headquarters
Gurgaon, India
Tarun Tahiliani is one of the leading fashion designers in India. His new headquarters is a three-storied structure in exposed brick and concrete. The project aims at creating inward looking spaces below a skylight and around a garden, akin to a cloister. All functions of production and all categories of employees co-exist in the headquarters, with the actual production process becoming the pivotal aspect of the building. The project adapts some architectural features of the Jamali Kamali mosque, near the location of the client’s previous headquarters, into contemporary design: the grandeur of arches, the entrance, big volumes and natural light.
