ICI - British Council Management Centre
Karachi, Pakistan
A training centre conceived of as a 'non building', created along an arched retaining wall. The design was based on the curved sweep of a large existing veranda and was intended to act as an extension of the landscape. Situated on slightly raised ground and built out of reinforced concrete, the complex includes a reception, a library, a seminar room, three meeting rooms, ample office space, and a corridor used for break out space. The centre is the first of its kind to house digital information and an online library in Karachi.
