Lahore Fort Complex: Daulat Khana
Lahore, Pakistan
The Daulat Khana is a walled residential courtyard in the Lahore Fort, found to the west of the Diwan-i-Amm, and east of the Moti Mosque. Commissioned by Jahangir, an inscription describes it as the Daulat Khana-i Jahangir. Its construction was supervised by the architect Mamur Khan, known as 'Abd al-Karim, well known for his association with various projects under Shah Jahan and Jahaniri. The Daulat Khana is composed of arched chambers around a central courtyard, and it serves as a passage between the different parts of the Lahore palace.
