Chorakha Quarter Reconstruction
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Guzar Chorakha, which means residential quarter, is where one of the main active mosques was situated, and functioned until Registan Square was built in 15th century. In 1980-1985 the research, surveying, design and construction works were carried out in order to restore the mosque, market place, club, and other service establishments.
