The new building is linked to the existing one and faces the boulevard to the west. This addition includes office space on five floors, a 400-seat conference room on the first basement level, plus book storage and parking on the lower two basement levels. The U-shaped plan is said to be inspired by traditional Turkish madrasa architecture. The main hall including the atrium looks towards the old building and rises uninterrupted for eight storeys. The structure is reinforced concrete skeleton, with coffered ceilings, fair faced concrete on external and internal walls, and solar film on all glass surfaces.
