Baily Road Government Housing
Dhaka, Bangladesh
The six-storey high walk-up blocks depart from the usual three to four floors accepted for walk-up residential structures. This reflects an effort to increase the density of inhabitants per acre (from 30 to 48 families). Sixteen housing blocks, containing two types of flats 80 m2 apartments and 42 m2 apartments, are lined up in groups of two along a north-south axis.

The center of the site is occupied by the area reserved for the construction of a seconf phase high-rise building. The car parks and children's playgrounds are symetrically arranged between the blocks, along the north-south central axis.
