Aliye Çelik Story: the first woman architect from Princeton University School of Architecture
Based on the academic research project, “Hacking the Politics of Gender in Architecture: Aliye Pekin Çelik from ‘Old Boys School’ to the United Nations," by Dr. Meral Ekincioğlu, this interview is an account of Dr. Aliye Çelik's vibrant career as an urban planner and Representative to the U.N., but moreover, as a professional who challenged gender-expectations in the historically male-dominated field of architecture, both in Turkey and the United States.
In addition to featuring live footage with Çelik, the interview also includes still images from various points in her career.
