The results of The Omrania | CSBE Student Award for Excellence in Architectural Design are now available on the
Center for the Study of the Built Environment (CSBE) web site. The award section of the web site features the
award announcement; the
winning projects; the jury report by the jury members Sahel Al Hiyari, Han Tumertekin, and Farouk Yaghmour; and a response from academia to the jury report by Natheer Abu Obeid, Dean of the College of Architecture and Design at the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
The Award has been created by Omrania and Associates (O&A) and CSBE to recognize quality in the teaching of architecture in Jordan, and to encourage students in Jordanian schools of architecture to excel in their design performance. The Award is for the best Jordanian Architecture Graduation Project in 2008. Plans currently are underway to extend the scope of the Award beyond Jordan.
Partial support for the Award has been provided by the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
