Description	The Turkestanskii Al'bom (prev. The Kun Collection) is a compilation of 19th century photographs of Central Asia, arranged into four themes: archeological, ethnographical, trades, and historical. The albums, commissioned by the Governor of Russian Turkestan to edify Westerners and produced in the early 1870's, include architectural images and maps among other cultural content. The images are hosted in the Prints and Photographs Reading Room on the Library of Congress site.
