Safa Park was first developed in 1975, but required redevelopment in 1984. The new scheme had to incorporate some elements of the previous design, such as existing vegetation and the pattern of existing roads and walkways. The new design is based on the zoning of specific functions, along with the creation of strong visual axes and landmarks.
