Uploading Your Portrait
Members can upload a new portrait, or delete an old one at any time.
Steps:
A. Prepare the image
1) Digitize your image. The image can be scanned from a photograph or taken with a digital camera.
2) Resize your image. Using an image-editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, resize the image so that maximum dimensions are 100 pixels wide and 120 pixels high. The resolution should be 72 dpi.
In Photoshop, the image can be resized by clicking on Image > Image Size.
Then enter the correct dimensions and resolution, and click on the "OK" button. (See below.)

3) Save your image. Save the image as a JPG or GIF, by selecting File > Save a Copy... and then choosing JPEG as the format. Be sure you save the image in the folder where you wish to keep it.
In the options, save as Medium quality and click on the "OK" button.

B. Upload the image
1) Go to your Profile page. In your personal workspace ("My Workspace") click on "Profile" in the blue horizontal navigation bar.
On your profile page, a standard placeholder portrait will be displayed. (See illustration below.) This placeholder image is not displayed anywhere on the site -- it is there only to remind you that you can replace it with your own image.
Click on the "Upload Portrait" link. (See below.)

2) Upload the image. Click on the "Browse" button and locate the image you want to upload.
Click on the "Open" button. The name of the file will appear in the text box.
Click on the "Upload Portrait" button.

Your new portrait will be displayed on your Profile page. (See below.)

3) Edit Privacy/Visibility Controls. To ensure that your portrait is visible to others, click on the "Edit Privacy/Visibility Controls" link. (See above.)
Click on the "Show to Public" or "Show to ArchNet Members" button.
Then click on the "Update" button. (See below.)
