Type your password a second time.

C) Provide Member Information

The basic information form for your member profile will appear. The boxes with a (*) must be filled in. (See figure below.)

ArchNet's Privacy Policy states that you control the information that is visible to other users and that we will never give away or sell the information you give us.

With the exception of your name, the information on this page is only seen by the ArchNet system administrators unless you choose to share it with others.

You and your contributions will always be identified by your full name. Since this is a professional community, aliases, nicknames, and false names are unacceptable.

When you have completed the form, click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen. (See figure below.)

D) Agree to Terms of Membership

You will be asked to read the ArchNet Terms of Membership before joining ArchNet.

In essence, it says that by joining ArchNet you agree to the following rules:

1. Members may not interfere with other Members's use and enjoyment of ArchNet (for example, by harassing, threatening or stalking another participant of a chat room, forum, seminar, or threaded message, including the use of expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity);

2. Members may not use ArchNet to conduct any activity that is illegal or violates the rights of others, provide instructional information about illegal activities, or promote physical harm or injury against any group or individual;

3. Members may not use ArchNet to advertise or sell products or services to others;

4. Members must immediately inform the ArchNet administrator if they have reason to believe that another Member is infringing any copyrights or other proprietary materials;

5. Members may not post or transmit material that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, harmful, threatening, abusive or hateful, that contains nudity or pornography, that violates the property rights of others (including without limitation infringing use of a copyright or trademark), that violates the privacy or publicity right of others, that is in violation of applicable laws, or that is used to circumvent manufacturer-installed copy-protect devices, including serial or registration numbers for software programs, or any type of cracker utilities;

6.Members may not post or disclose any personally identifiable information belonging to children or displaying material that exploits children under 18 years of age; and

7.Members may not impersonate another Member or ArchNet staff member.

When you have read and agree to all terms, you will click on a button that says "I accept all terms". (See figure below.)

E) Confirm Registration

You will then see a screen that says the server has sent you information regarding registration. (See figure below.)

Pick up your email at the address in the above screen. You will see a message with a subject line that says: "Welcome to Archnet".

Open the message.

Click on the registration URL at the bottom of the screen. (See figure below.)

A screen will appear saying that your email address has been confirmed.

Click on the "Continue" button. (See figure below.)

Type in your password and click on the "Log In" button. (See figure below.)

F) Set Visibility Controls

It will take you to your Privacy/Visibility Controls and you may change the level of visibility for each piece of information in your member profile.

Because ArchNet is a professional community and a community is based on knowing your fellow-members, we strongly encourage you to make information about yourself available to other ArchNet members.

Click on the "Update" button when you are done. (See figure below.)

The registration process is complete.

You may continue to add information -- an image of yourself, or provide a bio and CV -- on your profile page as well.

G) Explore!
