REVIVAL OF ISLAMIC ARCHITECTURE IN WESTERN WORLD
This group intend to promote the study of the revival of Islamic architecture and arts in the Western World. Contributions about buildings of HISTORICAL STYLES are welcome! In special, we intend to make a corpora of new-mameluke buildings around the world. Also, intend to show the progress of Al-Sultaniya, the new-mameluk complex of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Al-Sultanyia opted for a style of Historical Architecture and decided to make a reverence and a homage for one of the most famous Dynasties of the Medieval Near East: the Mameluke Dynasty. Al-Sultanyia is a living lesson of Islamic Architecture because there someone can identify the most important forms and details of medieval architecture. So, words as durqa a, fasquiya, sabil, kuttab, mushrabyia, sukhsheikha, maqa ad, ablaq, qa a, sahn, mirhab, turba and many other are regularly used to explain and identify what has been built. Also, in my File here in Archnet, you can see 25 pictures of the work (under construction). Please, if interested, write to pradodemello@hotmail.com
