QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY


Dr Nada Lazarevic Bajec is professor of Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade.  She has worked on several projects sponsored by the Government of Serbia, City Council of Belgrade and international organizations (UN-HABITAT, UNECE, and Stability Pact for SEE). Her main research is in the field of spatial planning of underdeveloped regions, regional and local strategic planning in Serbia, reform of the urban land use system, adjustment of Serbian planning legislation and building regulations to the legislation of countries in the EU in the context of European integration processes.

As an expert in strategic urban and spatial planning N.Lazarevic Bajec carried out research on spatial planning, produced programs for urban and regional development in different parts of Serbia and former Yugoslavia, participated in the reform of the urban land use system. She participated in education of local authorities for modern governance and strategic planning and worked on adjustment of Serbian legislation and building regulations to the legislation of countries in the EU.

Dr N.Lazarevic Bajec was the Chair of Planning Commission City Council of Belgrade (from. l988 - l992). She is a member of the Housing Policy Group, advisory group in housing policy matters at the Ministry for Capital Investments, Republic of Serbia (from 2003).

She spent a year at the University of Sussex, School of Cultural and Community Studies in Brighton (1979-80) and was a guest of Planning Department at Oxford Polytechnic (Brookes University) in 1986.

Reform of the urban land use system in Belgrade (l994);

Organization of local government for modern urban planning  (1995);

Planning in rural and tourist regions (l995 - l997);

 The urbanization strategy in changed development condition (l996),

 Methodology for the General plan of Belgrade (1997);

Education of local authorities for modern local governance (2001-2002);

 Adjustment of Serbian  legislation and building regulations to the legislation of countries in the EU (2001 - 2002);

Local expert team coordinator of Country Profile on the Housing Sector of Serbia and Montenegro (2005);

Housing Strategy of Serbia team coordinator (2005- ),

Regional Development Strategy of Serbia until 2012.
