Abstract |
This study has dropped the lights on the architectural and the urban interrelations of the Banks' buildings of Amman, to document and analyze a sample of these buildings from the architectural and the urban point of view. The researcher has studied Jordan historical economical and urbane development, and the central business district relationship with the city, and after that studied the architectural history of Amman, and focused on the banks' buildings from the design and functional aspects, building
specifications, interior spaces, architectural forms and their observed interconnections. The study focused on the shumeisani region case since it contains more than fifty percent of the headquarters of the banks in Jordan. The study considered two models to be analyzed (Arab Bank, and Jordan Bank), the analysis assumed comparison between the old and new buildings of each bank and their historical specification and modern characteristics in addition to other points that were taken into the analysis.
This study resulted in finding several results starting from documenting the Banks' Buildings and establishing theoretical results such as the effect of building specifications on the design of bank's buildings process and the importance of these buildings privacy, in addition to the level of development of these buildings design throughout the last two decades.
The study came up with several recommendations, such as the importance of developing the Jordanian Building Specifications to fit the progressive development of commercial and headquarters buildings from its urban and architectural side and urging modern planning of business district and the future expansion of Amman. |
