Abstract:
The Recent noticeable popularity of heritage conservation projects within the Islamic World with the inseparable adoption of alien western approaches; evokes the objectives of this research to be explored. This study aims to introduce the Islamic origin of the heritage conservation issue; through the process of Authenticating the issue’s three main dimensions, which they are: what are the resources that deserve to be conserved; why do we conserve; and how to conserve. Also, this study aims to introduce an authentic base of criticizing any standing Model (Approach) in heritage conservation domain, in terms of its origin and content (according to what, why and how to conserve). Moreover, the study aims to introduce an authentic base of evaluating any existed attitudes in heritage conservation projects; standing on a general authentic frame exemplifying by the explored Model with its three main dimensions (what, why and how), besides small authentic frames exemplifying by the explored Islamic origin of the seven main issues in heritage conservation contemporary projects, that will be raised through this study.
The introduced ‘Document’ (the authenticated three dimensions and the introduced base for criticism) with its doctrinal base is recommended to guide heritage conservation projects in terms of the definition, the evaluation, the prioritizing, the grading and the management of the cultural heritage in such Islamic regions. The study will approach an authentic critical value-oriented approach of thinking; insisting on the rejection of the blind adoption of a western research approach in exploring such issue that relates with the Creed. |
