Abstract:
This study emphasized on the theoretical bases concerning color and architecture, as color is one of the most important stimuli in our environment. This study was conducted through the theoretical, cultural, and architectural aspects to emphasize on the relationship between man, behavior, and environment interrelating perception.

The analytical aspect dealt with three different studies: the first one the environmental database, the physical study, the second, and the third are the qualitative and quantitative study concerning human database. Through these studies the different comprehensive colored architectural prototypes were shown, in addition to the people's cultural aspects concerning color, and the factors that influence color usage in Amman were identified.

A comprehensive and a gradual use of color is necessary to achieve the spatial orientation, and to avoid sensory deprivation.
