Dr. Mohamed Saleh Makiya, the founder of the Baghdad School and the pioneer of regional architecture, was awarded the first Tamayouz Lifetime Achievement Award in architecture in 2014. The Tamayouz Lifetime Achievement award, which aims to celebrate the pioneers of Iraqi Architecture, is Iraq’s most prestigious architecture prize.
