Anna Grichting SolderSwitzerland
Anna Grichting Solder is an architect, urbanist and musician. She graduated with a Doctor of Design in Urbanism from Harvard University, and obtained a Diploma of Architecture and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Urbanism and Territorial Planning from the University of Geneva. She has practiced as an architect and urbanist in Europe and the USA. Her academic experience includes teaching and research as a Professor and fellow at the Universities of Geneva, Harvard, MIT and Qatar. She has taught courses, conducted research and published on the topics of Sustainable Design, Public Art Food Urbanism, Food-Water-Energy Nexus Design, Urban Biodiversity, Urban Forestry, Blue Urbanism, Urban Legacies of Mega Events and Border Urbanisms. She is passionate about using arts and design to create a more beautiful and sustainable world through co-creative, interdisciplinary, holistic and regenerative systems-based approaches to projects. She has published books and papers and organised numerous workshops, exhibitions and events. She has also performed as a musician in Switzerland, USA, Pakistan, and Qatar.
Anna Grichting is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Vermont, Institute of Environmental Diplomacy and Security, as well as a Lead Research Consultant for Qatar University in an international consortium on a Belmont Forum Grant for the Sustainable Urbanisation Global Initiative on the Food-Water-Energy nexus. She previously worked on an education initiative for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
