Giamila Quattrone

Giamila Quattrone, Lecturer in Architecture at Liverpool School of Architecture (UK). Under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Ministry for Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman she coordinates research projects coordinates research projects relating to the documentation of traditional oasis settlements, the training of young graduates and ministry employees, and the development of methods, models, guidelines and design propositions for Heritage Management and Development Plans.


She is interested in the creative recycling of waste in architectural and urban design, and in contemporary regionalist architecture, particularly that of Australia and the work of Glenn Murcutt.  She has been a Research Fellow in Architecture at Nottingham Trent University (2010-2014), and an Associate Lecturer at Manchester School of Architecture (2013-2014). Prior to that, Quattrone obtained her MA (2003) and Ph.D. (2008) in Architectural Technology from the Facoltà di Architettura Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, where she continued to teach and conduct research until 2010.  She is recipient of the 2014 Endeavour Research Fellowship and the 2006 Endeavour Europe Awards, Australian Government Department of Education.
