Orhan Gazi (Orkhan or Orhan I) was the second Ottoman sultan and son of the founder of the dynasty, Osman I. His date of birth is uncertain but is thought to have been circa 680 AH (1281 CE). He takes his name Gazi from the military operations against the Byzantines in which he took part with his father and after his father's death.
