Aga Khan Award for Architecture, 16th Cycle2025 Shortlist Announced
On 5 June 2025, the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA) announced the shortlist for the 16th cycle of the triennial Award. An independent Master Jury selected just 19 projects from a pool of 369 nominations. There are shortlisted projects in 15 countries, from Bangladesh to the UAE, from Senegal to Indonesia. His Late Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV established the AKAA in 1977 to identify and encourage building concepts that successfully address the needs and aspirations of communities in which Muslims have a significant presence. These projects set new standards of excellence in architecture, planning, historic preservation, and landscape architecture. They will also catalyze the continual development of programs, publications, and online presences that increase awareness of and build upon the new standards, as has been the case with the previous 15 cycles of the Award. Archnet provides you with access to it all! The recipient projects will be announced in September, so stay tuned for more!
